From April, the Gardenway online exhibition opened featuring an initial proposed outline route for the Aylesbury Gardenway, as well as high level proposals for the landscaping of the orbital park, and design standards for the walking, cycling and wheeling route.
Following a fantastic response to the engagement activities, feedback from the community conversations, co-design workshops and postings made on the interactive “put a pin in it” map is being shared via this virtual exhibition.
Many of the wonderful, creative and, imaginative ideas suggested by the public have been incorporated into the proposed route and people are now invited to visit the online exhibition and share their thoughts.
The exhibition will close on 30th July and the next step in the journey will be to prepare a report with recommendations about the proposed route, broken down into deliverable sections, and plans for its’ future development.
Lisa Michelson, Service Director for Economic Growth and Strategy said, “This is such an exciting project and from the response, during the engagement campaign we know that this is something that local people want and support.
It will take many years to complete the orbital park- as the different sections come forward funding will need to be found and care taken to ensure that the design meets local needs and is sympathetic to the local environment."
